The film was a collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan. She took the time to prepare and did not take the test in impromptu. After that, she signed up for three films together with Yash Raj Films. She played a role as the bride, who was young and married to a man who was middle age (the role that Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka played Shahid Kapoor Meiyang Chang and Vir Das in the movie Badmash Company. The film received mixed praises. Anushka appeared in a film known as Band Baaja Baraat starring Ranveer in which she portrayed an American Punjabi girl from middle class, who establishes her own wedding-planning company. The movie was a huge success and was praised by the critics. Anushka has completed her 3-film contract with Yash Raj Films after Band Baaja Baaraat.
